White Widget is a leading-edge software design and development studio. We're a fast-growing team with a diverse set of backgrounds and skills. We ship quality work on time, and we're looking for someone who loves making that happen behind the scenes. At White Widget, you'll be the person who keeps multiple projects running smoothly. Not by managing people or making strategic calls, but by being relentless about follow-through. If you get satisfaction from turning messy workflows into organized systems and watching things get done, this is your role. What This Role Actually Is Let's be direct: this is not a strategic PM role where you own client relationships or make scope decisions. You won't be "leading" projects in the traditional sense. You'll be supporting senior engineers who each own multiple client projects. Your job is to amplify their capacity by handling all the execution work they shouldn't be doing. Think of it like this: they make the decisions, you make sure those decisions actually happen. You'll be the one who chases design teams for assets, updates project boards after standups, sends status reports to clients (that the lead reviews), tracks hours, flags blockers, and makes sure nothing falls through the cracks across 3-5 active projects. If that sounds boring to you, this isn't your role. If that sounds like exactly the kind of systematic execution work you're good at, keep reading.
Responsibilities
- Chase dependencies across teams. When engineering needs logo files from design, you're the one who requests them, follows up twice, and delivers them organized in the right folder. When QA needs staging credentials, you track them down. You are relentless about follow-through.
- Keep project boards current. After every standup, every sprint planning meeting, every client call, you update the board. Tasks move, dependencies get flagged, hours get logged. The board is always the source of truth because you make it so.
- We don’t micromanage. You’re a smart cookie and we trust you to do the job at your fullest.
- We’re geeks at heart and love learning new things and getting challenged. We do regular upskilling and skill sharing, so you’re kept up-to-date on the best practices of the industry.
